This kiwi margarita recipe is refreshing, tart, slightly sweet, and perfect for cooling off all summer! It comes together quickly in your blender.

These kiwi margaritas are fairly strong and not too sweet. The fruit naturally sweetens the drink, and the Cointreau is also a bit sweet, so it’s nicely balanced without getting that cloying taste that so many margaritas have.

With that said, if you do want these to be a bit sweeter, you could always add a bit of simple syrup (boil equal parts white sugar and water until the sugar dissolves, then let it cool).

Personally, I prefer drinks like these on the sweeter side, but people like my husband who don’t mind stronger and less sweet drinks would not add the simple syrup.

Ok, so anyone who reads this blog regularly will notice that I’m on a bit of a margarita roll these days. I made a whole variety of them since I don’t normally keep tequila and triple sec around, so that’s why. 🙂

Batching recipes is one trick I use to create more content in a logical kinda way. I definitely try to break it up a bit, but sometimes similar recipes end up fairly close together. Now you know why!

The warm weather we’ve had lately has also made me more eager in general to whip up drinks and cocktails for the blog.

Case in point – my pomegranate margarita recipe, my mango margarita, and my passion fruit margarita.

This blended margarita recipe is best enjoyed right away – the kiwi puree can settle a bit, which is fine, but I prefer to drink these when they’re fresh out of the blender. I just think they’re so pretty – don’t you?

It’s up to you how much you blend the kiwis in this simple margarita recipe. I prefer them pulverized to oblivion, but my husband actually liked the puree to be a little more chunky. Just play with it and adjust to suit your preferences.

It’s hard to go wrong with a drink recipe like this.

Prep: 10 minutes
Total: 10 minutes
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 4 kiwis peeled
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces triple sec (I used Cointreau)
  • Juice of 1/2 a lime
  • Salt for rimming the glass
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Peel your kiwis and add them to a blender.
  • Add the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice to the blender. Blend until desired consistency is reached.
  • Rim your glasses and add the ice.
  • Pour the drink mixture into the glasses. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • I used Maldon sea salt flakes to rim the glasses in the photos. You could also use specialty margarita rimming salt.
